What’s in it?
There are just 3 ingredients in the sugar paste: sugar, water and lemon ~ that’s it. It holds a full cosmetic license; legally it has to, as it is applied to the skin. It also had to be registered on the UK portal.
The packaging
All materials used have been chosen with as low an environmental impact as possible. Everything in the box can be reused or repurposed. Only one thing goes in the bin: the hair-covered strips. We spent months sourcing all of this right in the middle of a cardboard shortage; who knew that was a thing?
We managed to find a company in Cornwall who handmade all our boxes, all sturdy enough to reuse again and again. A popular reuse is for tampons in the bathroom cabinet; read what people do with their empties!
How is the sugar paste made?
Created during lockdown after I had watched almost every video ever made. I tried many times and failed, watching people shouting out “Look, I made my own sugarwax”, and it gave me the false impression it was easy, but no, it was not! Believe me, with everything I knew, I still couldn’t crack it, so I ended up getting a bounce-back loan and buying the recipe from a well-known sugar supplier. In June this year, I finally paid off that loan and have 8 different pastes, many of which I use at Sugarflick.
Is it just for the top lip area?
No, it’s great for chin hair; you can tidy your brows, and guess what! Even hobbit feet can be tackled ~ most importantly, it’s kind to sensitive skin.
Yes, this is me making a demo video using the Top Lip Kit. I’m at a menopausal age, so yes, I get a tache, grown out for this demo. We are not talking a “Poirot-type tache” ha ha ~ so I barely need to do it, since sugaring lasts so long.

Top Lip Kit is a Sugarflick product, and you’ll see the Top Lip Kit branding on the jar and all packaging for now. That’s the name we launched over five years ago, but we do plan to have our Sugarflick branding on future kits, and we will announce that when the time comes. For now, that pop-style logo remains.
