“Hello, have you got anything today? I fly tomorrow” or maybe you booked in a bit too close to that plane journey! Ok, some gents are fine and our regulars know the score, but if it’s your first time with us, please know we may well be overcautious with your treatment and timings.

Booking too close to sun exposure

We all get busy and it is so easy to just book and read later, hey, it’s just a wax BUT it is also now a heatwave, and one like we have never had before. Always give your skin some time to rest before or after any kind of hair removal, be it waxing, or sugaring. The chances of sunburn can be increased as the dead skin cells are removed.

Think about what your skin‘s been through lately! mowed the lawn, sat in an open top car or taken an early evening walk, T-shirt slung over the shoulder! protected or not! having a wax or sugar too soon after any kind of sun exposure, can lead to irritation, sensitivity and worse. This is why timings matter so much.

You need to give your skin the best chance to stay calm and comfortable afterwards. We often get text/emails from gents “I fly next week is it too late, will I get a rash?” or “I have never had this done before but I booked a holiday and I want my back waxed asap” again, let us advise you, the last thing we want is for you to end up being the spottiest fella at the pool.

The best idea for sure, get in a few over the autumn and winter months, even if just 2 before, but you will be summer ready, your skin will know the drill and you’ll have less or no skin worries on your holiday. Please don’t be the last-minute man.
