Dry razors and the midwife

published under sweet advice on January 26th 2015

The topic of the “dry razor”  just before childbirth has been a common discussion. After talking to a midwife the other day, I felt I should mention having a Brazilian or Hollywood to any pregnant ladies out there.  This is probably the last thing on your mind before giving birth, but if you have a planned C-section it may be worth considering.

When scar tissue heals, it can begin to itch and more so if the hair has been shaved. As it grows back, you have that to deal with that too, as well as all that goes with a newborn.

Ask yourself the question, “Should I think about hair removal?

We are not suggesting that every expectant mother has the latest Brazilian, although many of our clients have this done during their pregnancies, we are merely feeding back the childbirth experiences of our clients.

This week, one of our 3 “expectant” ladies, said she was so glad to have now found sugaring.  She spoke about her previous waxing experiences a few years ago now.  It was suggested to her to “get a wax” and her reply was, “Wax before a birth!  just punch me twice why don’t you”.

We know that the last thing any medical staff are looking at is your latest hollywood wax but if some of the area is clear, even just the C-section area, then, as said by the midwife, it makes their job easier,  and our expectant mum is happy with one more weight off her mind!
